I think this book is an awesome lesson for students regarding the environment and attitudes。 It teaches about the importance of being responsible when it comes to keeping the environment safe and livable。 It has really fun rhymes with a lot of words people wouldn't normally think about rhyming。 I think this book should be a staple in all children's lives as the lessons it teaches are one of a kind! This book was one of my favorites as a child, and still is today! It gives such an important message about our environment and puts it into a way that children can understand。 It give the message that change will not happen if no one takes that first step, which is so important to understand in today's society。 Plus, using rhymes and poetry is a great way to keep children engaged in the story。 Dr。 Seuss was an amazing author! Absolutely gripping narrative on the dangers of consumerism and soulless industrialization。 Must read for any aspiring sage in connection with nature。

A surprisingly poignant critique of capitalism and environmental destruction, veiled behind rhymes and bright pictures。 Could spark some excellent discussions with children about the impact humans have on the planet。

The Lorax by Dr。 Seuss is one of the few written by Seuss which I had not read before! As a child the illustrations of his books scared me but as an adult they fascinated me。 The idea of something that speaks for the trees is interesting and teaches young children that the environment we live in is important。 I know there is a movie to this book but I do not think I would be interested in watching it as the book was good by itself alone。 This could be a good book to read during the week of tubes The Lorax by Dr。 Seuss is one of the few written by Seuss which I had not read before! My favorite story since I was about 12。 Every time I read I fall in love with hope and the future。 I believe that all the things that are bad can be repaired if enough of us get together to make a change。

The Lorax is a Suess classic!!! This is actually a political book that can be read by children & adults alike。 Its sad to see the cute little Lorax's home be destroyed due to deforestation and consumerism。 The book teaches us something very real & something that continues to happen。 Hopefully one day the Lorax will return in order to see his forest restored。 The Lorax is a Suess classic!!! The Lorax is one of my favorite movies, so I decided to read the book and review it。 I love how the first two pages of the book captivate the reader by turning the Lorax into a mystery。 The Once-ler is a grumpy little thing who knows who the story of The Lorax and says he will tell if you pay the proper amount。 The words are whimsical and some aren't even real, yet the reader still understands exactly what they mean。 The story of the Lorax starts off by explaining a time before, what seems to be The Lorax is one of my favorite movies, so I decided to read the book and review it。 I love how the first two pages of the book captivate the reader by turning the Lorax into a mystery。 The Once-ler is a grumpy little thing who knows who the story of The Lorax and says he will tell if you pay the proper amount。 The words are whimsical and some aren't even real, yet the reader still understands exactly what they mean。 The story of the Lorax starts off by explaining a time before, what seems to be, global warming。 The Once-ler then starts to explain how beautiful the Truffula Trees were before he began cutting down the trees。 This is when the Lorax comes down and says he speaks for the trees and wants to know why it was chopped down! The response given by the Once-ler is that he is doing nothing wrong because it is to make something that every person needs! It doesn't take long to find out that cutting down the trees is actually detrimental, and the thing that every person "needs" is not a Thneed! I love the central message of not being greedy and how detrimental global warming could be if everyone doesn't work together to stop it! At the end, the last Truffula seed is given to the main character so he could regrow the forest and the Lorax would come back! I love this story, and I can see why they turned it into a movie! It is long! The words used throughout are a little tough for an early reader to tackle alone, so I believe this book would be another one that is good to be read aloud。 I would also recommend supplementing the reading with the movie in order to really bring the words to life for the children! Would definitely keep this book on my reading shelf at school。 Giving a four star review because I love the lightness given to such a heavy message but the words could be confusing for someone who doesn't read fluently; even for someone who does! 。。。more

I have always enjoyed Dr。 Seuss books。 The made up language always made the books a little bit more fun。 The made up language helped me stay intrigued with reading this book。 This book is very descriptive and fun。 I enjoyed reading it。

This story of saving the world one tree at a time seems a bit ahead of its time。 The idea that children can read and understand to respect nature is fantastic! Dr。 Seuss kills it!
Hannah Laine,
I really think, that eventhough its a children’s book, it’s really worth a read for every person。 The paintings are so beautiful and Dr。 Seuss was really ahead of his time when he wrote the book, because the problem he’s pointing out is still more topical than ever!

Bailey Hammond,
The Lorax in my opinion is a classic。 Dr。 Seuss gives children a unique story of environmental issues by using the character the Once-ler who is dangerously capitalistic to cut down all the trees。 The Lorax becomes the advocate for nature and speaks for the trees。 This book is very good to engage children on environmental issues。

Text-to Teaching Connection: My personal favorite Dr。 Seuss book is The Lorax。 Dr。 Seuss does a great job with his quirky way of explaining what can happen when we do not care about our climate。 When greed and power are in charge, we may lose sight of what is best。 A significant concern for many species on our planet is pollution and habitat destruction。 The message of The Lorax communicates these ideas to children in a simple way to understand。 Read The Lorax and then speak about what happened Text-to Teaching Connection: My personal favorite Dr。 Seuss book is The Lorax。 Dr。 Seuss does a great job with his quirky way of explaining what can happen when we do not care about our climate。 When greed and power are in charge, we may lose sight of what is best。 A significant concern for many species on our planet is pollution and habitat destruction。 The message of The Lorax communicates these ideas to children in a simple way to understand。 Read The Lorax and then speak about what happened in the tale using the matching game。 In The Lorax, the game emphasizes the environmental message。 In addition to celebrating Dr。 Seuss's birthday, it will be great for Earth Day。 。。。more
